LET ME TELL YOU A STORY.
Kvaløya Adventure is more than just a dog kennel.
It is my home, workplace, and the place where I get to live my dream of working alongside my very best friends – my dogs.
I am Tommy Theodorsen, and I run Kvaløya Adventure from my home in Straumsbukta on Kvaløya. Surrounded by mountains, fjords and beautiful Arctic nature, I have spent many years of my life with dogs. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience training, racing and living with sled dogs. But most of all, the dogs have simply become a natural and important part of everyday life.

Today, I have around 50 Alaskan Huskies. They are a wonderful bunch, each with their own personality.
Some love to talk.
some love to run crazy around.
Absolutely all of them love attention and cuddles.
To me, the dogs are family. I and my staff spend a lot of time with them to make sure that every single dog gets the care, attention and love it deserves. Our pack includes dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to beloved senior dogs.
Everyone who works with me knows the dogs well – who is always first in line for a cuddle, who makes the funniest sounds, and who is always ready for a run. From our leader, Fenris, to the youngest members of the pack, every dog has its own personality and story.

My childhood home.
Kvaløya Adventure is located in Straumsbukta, about 45 minutes from Tromsø city centre. This is also where I grew up, and I have spent countless hours exploring the nature around here. I know the mountains, trails and landscape well, and it means a lot to me to be able to share this special place with people visiting us from all over the world.
When you visit us, we want to give you more than just a dog sledding trip.
We want to give you a glimpse into our everyday life with Arctic sled dogs – how we care for them, how they work together as a team, and why dog sledding has become such an important part of our lives.
During the winter, we use our own custom-built sleds, with room for two guests together with an experienced musher. When there is not enough snow, we use wheeled carts instead.

Small groups. Personal experiences.
We like to keep things personal. That is why we focus on small groups, taking our time and creating genuine experiences between people, dogs and nature.
With us, you can take a break from the city, breathe in the fresh Arctic air and experience the landscape together with my dogs. Maybe you will find a new favourite among the Huskies, learn something you never knew about sled dogs, or simply go home with a good story and a memory to cherish.
We are always happy to share our stories – about the dogs, life here on Kvaløya, and what it is really like to live with a pack of around 50 Alaskan Huskies.
Whether you are travelling with family, good friends, or simply looking for something a little different, I hope you will feel at home when you visit.
This is my and our life. This is my home. And this is the dream we get to live every day – together with the dogs.
We look forward meeting you!
