Practical information about our husky wagon tour
Try dog sledding in autumn without a sled... But on wheels! Autumn is the season where we start to smell winter coming back again. Autumn therefore means training season - and no better way to do so than on a wagon with wheels! On our Husky Wagon Tour you get to experience our eager dogs coming back into shape while you enjoy the change of season in the mountains.
Important: This is an outdoor activity in the Arctic. Our guides will drive the wagons and make it a safe experience, but we still require a basic level of fitness to walk around and balance in muddy areas. We cannot recommend pregnant women or people with back pain and heart problems to join due to the risk.
Your autumn adventure starts in front of the entrance of Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø City Centre. Please be there 10 minutes prior departure time. From here our driver will take you on a scenic 45 minutes' drive to our kennel on Kvaløya.

Important: If you are driving to the kennel with your own car please arrive at 08:30 AM and no earlier, as our staff need to be ready to greet you.
When you arrive to our kennel we provide you with a warm suit/rain gear and arctic boots. Please dress warm from home with wool and/or fleece. You need to bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf/buff. It might rain with some windy kisses, so better safe than sorry.
When we have provided you with the gear needed it is time for the fun on the trail. We will drive you to the valley where we ride the dogs and set off into the mountains. Our guides will drive the wagons to ensure a safe and comfortable ride.
After the wagon ride it is time to meet and cuddle with the dogs. To warm you up again we will serve you something warm to drink and a sweet snack that you can enjoy while asking our experienced mushers questions and listening to stories. Ask us anything!
When you are full from sweets, drinks, cuddles and stories our driver will drive you back to Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø. You will be back in Tromsø City Centre at approx. 12:00 PM depending on driving conditions.
The tour lasts approx. 4 hours.
Included: Transport, experienced guide that will lead the way on the trail, warm clothing, arctic boots, hot drinks, sweet snacks and of course lots of cuddles and storytelling!

Experience the magic of a husky adventure in the beautiful autumn landscape of Kvaløya, just outside Tromsø. At Kvaløya Adventure, you can meet our friendly sled dogs and join an authentic husky wagon tour through the nature surrounding our small kennel in Straumsbukta.
With around 50 Alaskan Huskies in our kennel, our tours are all about getting close to the dogs and enjoying a personal experience in a peaceful Arctic setting. During autumn, when there is not yet enough snow for traditional dog sledding, our huskies get to do what they love on a husky wagon ride.
A personal husky experience with a small group
We believe that the best husky experiences are personal and relaxed. That is why we welcome a maximum of 8 guests per group.
With small groups, there is plenty of time to meet the dogs, learn about life in our kennel and enjoy the experience. Whether you are visiting Tromsø as a couple, with friends, as a single traveller or as a family, our husky wagon tour offers an intimate way to experience the Arctic and get to know our sled dogs. They have a lot of personality!
Husky wagon ride through the autumn landscape
Our autumn husky wagon ride on Kvaløya gives the dogs the opportunity to run and work even when the trails are still free of snow. You will be pulled by a team of energetic huskies while taking in the beautiful surroundings of Straumsbukta.
Autumn on Kvaløya can be a spectacular time to explore the outdoors, with crisp Arctic air, colourful vegetation and dramatic mountain scenery. The changing landscape creates a completely different atmosphere from a winter dog sledding tour – but the excitement of being pulled by a team of huskies remains.

A husky wagon tour is more than simply a ride. It is an opportunity to experience the dogs up close and discover what life is like at a working sled dog kennel.
Our approximately 50 huskies are an important part of our everyday life. We love sharing their personalities and stories with our guests and giving you an insight into the bond between humans and sled dogs.
Because we keep our groups small, there is time for questions, interaction with the dogs and a more personal introduction to our kennel.
